  • Swedish m/96 Mauser in 6.5x55 Swedish. Manufactured in 1914 by the Carl Gustafs state arsenal in Eskilstuna, to the west of Stockholm. Reciever bears the accompanying crown and "Carl Gustafs Stads Gevärsfaktori" text across the top. The rifle was inspected at the factory by Arms Inspector Helge Kolthoff, and as such bears his initials (H.K.) on the left-hand side of the reciever before the serial number.
  • Designed to replace Sweden's Model 1867-1889 Remington Rolling Block rifles in infantry service, the m/96 (Model 1896) was first manufactured by Mauser Obendorff in Germany before Carl Gustafs began domestic production in 1898. Renowned for their accuracy, these rifles would eventually also be converted and replaced by the shortened m/38 (Model 1938) rifle.
  • This particular rifle is in good condition, and is all matching. It has had its trajectory plate removed from the buttstock.
