- Swedish m/38 Mauser in 6.5x55 Swedish. Manufactured in 1943 by Husqvarna. Reciever bears the accompanying "Husqvarna Vapenfabriks Aktiebolag" text across the top, followed by the date "1943." The rifle was inspected at the factory by Arms Inspector Sten Stenmo, and as such bears his initials (S.S.) beneath the rifle's rear sight.
- Designed to replace Sweden's older m/96 (Model 1896) Mauser, the m/38 was first manufactured by Carl Gustafs who converted approximately 55,000 of their longer m/96's. Husqvarna took over in 1941 however and manufactured 88,000 new m/38's between 1941 and 1944, giving a combined production total of roughly 143,000 between the two.
- This particular rifle is mostly matching, but has a non-matching stock, bolt shroad, and cocking piece (the latter two instead have the rifle's correct serial number electro-stencilled on.) All parts without serial numbers on this particular rifle have the correct Husqvarna production mark, the canted crown, on them.
