A Swedish m38/96 Mauser manufactured by Carl Gustafs in 1911. The top of the receiver bears the Carl Gustafs crown logo above the text "Carl Gustafs Stads Gevarsfaktori" and the date "1911."
Originally produced as an m/96 long rifle, this rifle has been converted to the shorter m/38-style configuration, commonly referred to as an m38/96. It retains the straight bolt, matching numbers, military wood stock, barrel bands, rear sight assembly, and original-style stock disc.
