  • A Persian Vz. 98/29 manufactured in 1938 by Zbrojovka Brno at their factory in Brno, Czechoslovakia. This rifle is one of a series produced under contract for and exported to the Imperial State of Persia (current-day Iran) during the 1930's. As such, the receiver is stamped with the imperial emblem of Iran during the Pahlavi dynasty's reign (a lion and sun), and another unknown but likely imperial-in-nature marking on the right-hand side. On the left-hand side are a set of Eastern and Western Arabic numerals showing "۵٢٠۶" and "5206" (the rifle's serial number), as well as Farsi script designating the rifle's model including its year of manufacture as "۱۳۱۷" (or 1938).
  • This rifle was assembled in Czechoslovakia and exported to Iran where it would enter service with the Shah's Imperial Army. As such, some parts on the bolt and rear sight feature a Czechoslovakian proof mark with a 'Z' inside of a circle, courtesy of its manufacturer, Zbrojovka Brno. These Persian Mausers would remain in service in Iran well until the 1970's and 1980's, being fully replaced after the Islamic Revolution.
  • This rifle is in good condition, with some fading to the finish and very minor pitting present on the metalwork. It has also had a replacement single-stage trigger put in place of its original one. The woodwork is otherwise in good condition however, with a slightly darkened finish and some cosmetic marks and scratches. The barrel is in excellent condition internally.
  • The rifle is not matching. It has been sporterised, and as such the stock has been shortened and the action drilled and tapped for scope mounts.
