A Short Magazine Lee-Enfield (SMLE) No. 1 Mk. III manufactured by Royal Small Arms Factory (RSAF) Enfield in 1929 and pushed into Israeli service after the Second World War. The right-hand side of the receiver beneath the bolt bears the royal cypher of King George V, with "G.R Enfield 1929 Sht LE III" written beneath it.
While in British service, this rifle was fitted with copper wire to strengthen the stock for use when firing rifle grenades while using a No. 1 Mk. 1 Cup Discharger. It was also issued in Israel some time after the Second World War, with the top of the receiver bearing a Hebrew Tzadik "צ" and a Star of David.
