  • An original American M1911 pistol manufactured by Colt in Hartford, Connecticut. This is one of an estimated 160,000 M1911 pistols manufactured by Colt between May and October of 1918, with the left hand side of the slide stamped with Colt's patent information and the famous "rampant colt" horse, while beneath it is stamped "United States Property." The right-hand side of the slide is stamped with "Model of 1911 U.S. Army."
  • This pistol appears to be one of the many whose production was expedited using a faster black oxide finishing process compared to standard blue finishes, which gave these M1911's the moniker of 'Black Army' pistols. This was done to ensure that they were available to arm the increasing numbers of American soldiers being deployed to France during the final year of the First World War.
  • Comes in a second-hand Browning pistol case, with additional aftermarket grips and a spare aftermarket Pachmayr magazine.
