They come in various lengths. The length of the bushing must be relative to the depth of forend timber. Main screw should not bottom out (hence the potential need for the main screw spring washer). Main screw bushing should not be clamped; compressing force should be largely on the timber forend. Shim the trigger guard until clamp occurs on forend, leaving the bushing with a fraction of breathing room.
