'Mechanical Variations of Mauser Bolt Action Military Rifles' by James A. Wingate
SKU:
"Mechanical Variations of Mauser Bolt Action Military Rifles" is a book which grew out of the research notes of a Mauser Rifle collector who had become frustrated with incomplete and often-conflicting data then extant for these historically-collectible and valuable rifles.
It has one single purpose: to equip the collector with a means of positively identifying these weapons and give each possible mechanical variation its own universally-accepted unique identity reference number, plus to document specific photographic and textual records for each variant in at least two additional globally distributed and respected famous reference texts other than this book.
This book covers the spectrum of Mauser military bolt action rifles produced by every known-nation of Mauser-manufacturing origin, over the entire historical time span of those weapons' manufacture, which stretches from Peter Paul Mauser's first prototypes in 1866 to those "parts rifles" still being manufactured in clandestine third world arsenals and by individuals for other purposes at the time of this book's writing. It documents the chronological history of all Mauser military bolt-rifle manufacturing by furnishing a multi-page graphical "timeline" diagram, which is a family tree of the world's primary or most important Mauser lineage, and offers copious notes on what is known concerning secondary or obscure producers and their multitudes of users world-wide.
