An incredibly rare Westley Richards Magazine Rifle manufactured between 1921-1931 using an original Mauser Oberndorf action, made for J.T. Lake of Adelaide, South Australia and chambered for .303 British. It also features an extremely rare extended magazine, to allow for the chambering of a rimmed case.
The barrel shank features the triangular Westley Richards logo. The left-hand side of the barrel bears the text "For .303 Cartridges. 150 Grs" while the right-hand has the text "J.T. Lake Adelaide." The top of the barrel has the text "Westley Richards & Co. London" written just ahead of the rear express sight.
The rifle has an amazing walnut stock, as well as a heat-treated blue finish to some metal components including the bolt release, rear sight base, and recoil lug. There is also an unmarked silver medallion present on the underside of the butt stock, and a small storage comparting in the rear butt plate.
This is one of an incredibly small amount of Westley Richards Mauser-based Magazine Rifles known to have been chambered from the factory in .303 British, and as such would make a phenomenal addition to any collection!
