The BRNO Model 4 is a highly regarded Czechoslovakian-made bolt-action target rifle, developed specifically for precision small-bore competition shooting. Manufactured by Zbrojovka Brno, the Model 4 represents an important part of the company's sporting and target rifle heritage, combining traditional European craftsmanship with a robust action, heavy target barrel and precision aperture sights. These rifles earned an excellent reputation for their accuracy, reliability and quality of manufacture, and remain sought after by collectors and enthusiasts of classic European target rifles.

This firearm retains its factory-original single-shot loading sledge and original BRNO target sights. The single-shot arrangement allows individual cartridges to be loaded directly into the action, reflecting the rifle's original purpose as a dedicated target firearm rather than a conventional sporting repeater. The rifle is fitted with its original adjustable BRNO aperture rear sight, marked "ZBROJOVKA BRNO N.P. – BRNO MOD 4 – MADE IN CZECHOSLOVAKIA", together with the corresponding adjustable front target sight assembly.

The rifle features a substantial blued steel barrel, designed to provide stability and consistency during precision shooting, together with a traditional full-length hardwood target stock. The stock incorporates a straight comb, broad fore-end and conventional pistol grip, providing a practical and comfortable shooting position. Original sling attachment points are also present, consistent with its intended use in traditional small-bore target shooting disciplines.

The rifle presents in honest, original condition, displaying age-related handling marks, small scratches and areas of finish wear to the timber, together with some general wear to the metalwork. The stock retains an attractive natural timber finish, while the barrel and action retain much of their original bluing.

A fine example of classic Czechoslovakian target rifle manufacture, this BRNO Model 4 offers an appealing combination of historical interest, traditional workmanship and purpose-built precision shooting design. With its original factory target sights and single-shot loading sledge intact, it would make an excellent addition to a collection of vintage European rimfire rifles or appeal to a shooter who appreciates traditional iron-sighted small-bore target rifles.
