The FN Browning Automatic 5, commonly known as the Auto-5 or simply A-5, is a recoil-operated semi-automatic shotgun first desgined by John Browning and manufactured by Fabrique Nationale de Hestal. It was the first successful semi-automatic shotgun design, and remained in production up to 1998. 'Auto-5' designates that it is an autoloader with a capacity of five rounds, four in the magazine and one in the chamber.

This particular shotgun with serial number of 192726 dates circa 1936, meaning it falls into pre-WWII Belgian production. Auto-5's saw military service worldwide from WWI through to the Vietnam War but this example would not have seen any service during WWII or later conflicts. 

This shotgun is in good mechanical order, retaining the classic appearance and character for which the Belgian Auto-5 has become so well known. There is some fair damage to the traditional walnut furniture with scratches and bumps associated with use and also some finish damage which is expected for a shotgun of this age.
