  • $89000

  • Colombian FN Model 1950 Carbine chambered in .30-06 Springfield. Manufactured sometime between 1952-1960 by Fabrique Nationale in Herstal, Belgiam.
  • The FN Model 1950 Carbine is a shorter version of the standard FN Model 1950 rifle, which in itself is an updated variant of the original FN Model 24 and 30-series of rifles. These rifles were primarily manufactured and sold for export, as by this time Fabrique Nationale was working on the development of the FN FAL. Colombia's FN Model 1950 rifles were replaced by a variety of newer semi-automatic rifles, but did see consistent use during the Colombian civil war known as 'La Violencia' or 'The Violence,' (1948–1958) as well as the subsequent and ongoing Colombian Conflict (1964–Present).
  • This particular rifle was exported on contract to Colombia. It has the accompanying Colombian national crest on the reciever, as well as the text "COLOMBIA FUERZAS MILITARES" or 'Colombian Military Forces' surrounding it. Although it has no date marked on it, the small 'P' on the left-hand side of the reciever is the code for Fabrique Nationale inspector Adolphe Delcommune, which was used between 1952 to 1960, meaning the rifle was manufactured somewhere between these dates. At some point after being phased out of service, this rifle was exported to the United Kingdom, where it was reinspected and proofed by the London Proof House, and as such bears the corresponding proof marks on the top of the barrel just past the front barrel band.
  • There is minor surface pitting on the right-hand side of the barrel as seen in the photos.
